I’ve had a couple of Indesign tutorials this week. They were very useful as I had only used the programme once before so it helped me get a better grip with using it, and I gained a lot of useful tools and tips. In the first session we ran through some of the basics, like importing an image into the design and began to play around with the type tools.
In the second session I learnt how to wrap text around an image and went more in depth with the typographic aspects, concentrating on spacing between letters and words and lines to create aesthetically pleasing type. I learnt about the “Master” pages which helped me add page numbers and made working with the programme much easier.
Just created this during an illustrator tutorial. We used our initials and had to merge two type faces together by cutting them in half and joining them back together. It was harder to do than it sounds! I then added a shape to make it more interesting and dynamic.
Yesterday in a Adobe Illustrator workshop we learnt how to use the basic tools (which was very useful as I hadn’t used the programme much before). I created a colour wheel to demonstrate the techniques I learnt during the session.
