WatchFinal animation evaluation -
After making changes to my first major draft, and chopping it down by 10 seconds, I noticed some changes that needed to be made (which I talked about in my last post). In this version I have made the start less static by animating some of the words. This gives it more flow and I feel it fits pretty nicely with the music (1009 by Bonobo).
Overall I was really happy...
WatchMy project was too long. It originally clocked in at 1:16 and we were briefed to try and keep it under a minute. So I cut it down in this one. However it still needs changes. The start now looks to static (it was originally moving much more but I had to cut some of this to save time). So it would be good to attempt to make the start flow better with the rest of the animation. I’m also not...

WatchMore experimenting. This time I attempted to animate the opening scene and tried to keep the style similar to that of the gun animation.

I used this tutorial to help me learn about camera’s in After Effects. It describes how to control it on a basic level using zoom and positioning etc. and some more advanced techniques too.
Nic Mark talks about happiness →
A very interesting lecture about the happiness index. It covers the link between happiness and sustainability and what makes people happy. It also points out that Costa Rica is the happiest country! They only use 1/4 of the resources a typical western country uses, which is pretty amazing.
Watchlearning more skills on After Effects. I learnt some more animation styles including a number counter.

WatchQuick test run of kinetic type, done on after affects. We were given an audio file from a movie (Toy Story) and asked to animate the words. As this was my first real go on after effects it looks a bit tacky and I didn’t pay much attention to the font or composition as i was more concentrating on learning the techniques.

WatchAfter Effects tutorial today - learnt some basic techniques and played around with some of the video editing effects.

This was an article which I was given at the start of my project. I have to respond to this article visually using animation as my medium. I will need to research into the idea of measuring happiness. It could also be interesting to research what makes people happy.
The article is to do with happiness within the UK but i’m more interested to tackle it globally.

WatchFinal book of doodles. After putting together a mock version, I designed the final book and printed. Some spreads are definitely more visually effective than others. It was really interesting to blow doodles and scribbles up to this size as it totally changes their dynamic.
